The heat supply of gas boilers in the early and late winter cold periods is small, resulting in frequent start and stop of heat pumps for flue gas waste heat recovery, and resulting in energy waste. In order to extend the running time of the heat pump, it is possible to add hot water storage tanks to the heating system. In this paper, a simplified model is established to simulate the thermocline of the hot water storage tank, and the influence of the inlet flow rate and the temperature difference between the inlet and outlet of the water distributor on the thickness of the thermocline is analysed. Combined with the actual project, the thermocline of the hot water storage tank is tested.
